ESPE awards a range of grants to assist members across all stages of their careers. Grants and other fellowships provide opportunities for both young and senior members who want to build up a scientific, research and clinical career in paediatric endocrinology.

Clinical fellowship grant

The Clinical Fellowship aims to promote the development of patient care, clinical management, and clinical research in paediatric endocrinology through a training programme in a European Clinical centre.

Research fellowship grant

The Research Fellowship enables talented early-career scientists, investigators, and paediatric endocrinologists to conduct research at leading institutions worldwide.

Early career scientific development grant

The Early Career Scientific Development Grant offers financial support to paediatric endocrinologists and basic scientists for the purpose of gathering information and experience on a specific research issue or on a laboratory technique in the field of paediatric endocrinology.

Visiting professorship of rare diseases grant

The ESPE Visiting Professorship of Rare Diseases grant enables scientific renewal and the development and sustaining of long-term partnerships that lead to the development of new projects and funding, for established paediatric endocrinologist.

ESPE research unit grant

The ESPE Research Unit Grant is a collaborative research grant which aims to foster, facilitate, coordinate, and identify topics for high quality research in paediatric endocrinology, for both physicians and scientists.

IFCAH-ESPE grant

THE IFCAH-ESPE Grant aims at giving a strong support to research dedicated to improve congenital adrenal hyperplasia patients life’s quality.

ESPE travel grant

The ESPE Travel Grant is intended to support the participation of junior delegates such as fellows in training, post–docs and PhD students for attendance of the ESPE Annual Meeting if the applicant has submitted a high-quality abstract.

ESPE is proud to present prestigious awards recognising winners’ achievements at different stages of their careers, across the field of paediatric endocrinology. 

Andrea Prader prize

The Andrea Prader Prize is an annual Leadership Award given to an ESPE member. It is the most prestigious ESPE award, given in recognition of excellence in leadership, a lifetime achievement in teaching and research, and an outstanding overall contribution to the field of paediatric endocrinology.

Research award

The Research Award recognises research achievements of outstanding quality in the fields of basic endocrine science or of clinical paediatric endocrinology.

International research award

The International Research Award recognises research achievements of outstanding quality in the fields of basic endocrine science or of clinical paediatric endocrinology. Candidates must be from a country outside Europe and the Mediterranean basin.

International outstanding clinician award

The International Outstanding Clinician Award recognises an outstanding contribution and lifetime commitment to the practice of clinical paediatric endocrinology in a country outside Europe and the Mediterranean basin. The award aims to strengthen the relationship between ESPE and its sister societies and to acknowledge excellence in paediatric endocrinology around the world.

Outstanding clinician award

The Outstanding Clinician Award was established in 2001 and recognises outstanding clinical contribution to the practice of Clinical Paediatric Endocrinology.

Young investigator award

The Young Investigator Award recognises outstanding scientific work by practising paediatricians who are ESPE members. The evaluation is based on the overall quality of a candidate’s CV in this regard and, in particular, on three original

Hormone Research award

The annual ESPE Hormone Research in Paediatrics Award, initiated in 2004, rewards a young clinical or experimental scientist for the best original paper and novel insights from clinical practice published in Hormone Research in Paediatrics.

Henning Andersen prize

The Henning Andersen Prizes are two awards for the most highly rated clinical and experimental abstracts submitted to the Society’s Annual Meeting.

ESPE undergraduate achievement award

The ESPE Undergraduate Achievement Award aims to attract early-career scientists and clinicians into paediatric endocrinology at the undergraduate level by recognising high achievement in the field. Given the increasing emphasis on specialisation at an earlier stage in career development, there is a need to increase exposure to paediatric endocrinology during the early formative years.

President poster award

The ESPE President Poster Award is bestowed to the presenting and first author of five selected poster presentations at the Annual Meeting.
