ESPE is delighted to announce that the first Nobel Conference on Systems Biology and Child Health with reference to Childhood Diabetes, Child Growth and Childhood Obesity will be held in Stockholm on 16th to 18th May 2008. This 3-day conference will be focussed on top science with the aim of bringing together the top world scientists. The conference is endorsed by the Nobel Foundation which has kindly provided financial support.

The committee members are Kerstin Albertsson-Wikland, Per-Olof Berggren, Franco Chiarelli, Ze'ev Hochberg and Martin Ritzen. Slots have been made available for young poster presenters and an invitation has been issued to young paediatric endocrinologists. The proceedings will be published in Nature Medicine.

The second conference will be an ESPE symposium as the Nobel Foundation cannot support a series of conferences. This second conference will be held in 2009 and will be dedicated to "Epigenetics in Paediatric Endocrinology".
